PROJECT: BUILD A HOUSE
Ok I know I've been slow on getting this page up on the house project but it's been a long haul. For those of you asking for the house pics/progress here ya go. For those wondering what the heck this is here's the 411:
Starting a few years back, I kept saving up all my holidays/extra hours at work so I'd have enough time to do this project. We took out a self builder mortgage and set out on building a house. I'm not just talking about being the general contractor, I mean swingin' the hammer and the whole bit. Some of it was fun, some of it not so much. I enjoyed the framing part the most, the roughing in for slab heat the least. On Oct 15, 2005 we moved in and the dream finally became a reality. It was a great learning experience and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. If you have the time and knowhow I definitely recommend doing it yourself. The money you save(especially with today's prices) and the fulfillment you receive when your kids run into the walls cannot be described. Of course after I looked at all the pics I don't think I'm in any of them. I was there, really!
